Employability Project Coordinator Post
We are looking for a caring, experienced and motivated individual to help us establish a successful Employability Project.
To run a one year pilot of the Employability Project in order to develop a structured targeted package of support geared towards enabling those furthest from the job market to move into employment, with the view of securing further funding for continual work. Including project development, building lasting partnerships with potential employers and other projects to identify, recruit and support clients with multiple barriers to employment.
To run an effective back-to-work training and mentoring programme. To ensure that beneficiaries receive a high standard of support, training and supervision that is tailor made to their situation and enables them to gain future employment.
The Co-ordinator will be responsible for recruiting, supporting and mentoring participants and enabling them to gain necessary experience through volunteering either within Project Hope Leeds or within other local projects, companies and organisations. They will also need to develop opportunities for partnership work and leasing with organisations such as Job Centre Plus, local voluntary & statutory organisations and other local projects. They will need to be able to provide non-judgmental, holistic support and take service users’ specific needs into consideration when supporting them back into employment. The role will require adhering to correct procedures and policies and working together as a team to ensure that the pilot runs efficiently.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both service users and potential partners such as local organisations and businesses
• Self-motivated and able to use initiative to build a successful project
• Ability to engage with people with complex needs
• Experience of working within an employability sector
• Knowledge of local employability services, projects, Job Centre Plus
Salary: £21,959 per annum/pro rata – 20 hours per week (based on 36h week). 12 months contract with option to extend dependent on funding and successful outcome of pilot.
